I think they ended up winning the votes partly because of the timing of the poll tbh

Beating out BOA is no mean feat by any means.

This article, no matter the timing, or any other factors, tells that gamers have clout and EA and other gaming companies should take notice.

The results of the poll notwithstanding (and really? The worst company in America? I understand we're not happy with EA right now, but the worst- worse than Walmart, or BofA, or any of the investment firms? If you seriously believe this, please put the controller down and pick up a newspaper) I'm a little disappointed in Forbes for this article, honestly.

Keep the axe-grinding to the editorial pages, please. I was hoping for some new info or opinion here, not the same EA sucks rant that I've seen twenty times since ME3 came out.

The author does indicate that he feels it's a little off to vote for EA over BoA, but that, having won, this is the reason why it means something. That said, yes, other companies certainly have done worse things, but it is a testimonial that we have success here getting our voices heard with a game company, might we inspire others to be heard on things which are undoubtedly more important? Nothing incenses a crowd more than "why are you bitching about A, B is SO MUCH WORSE AND I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE KNOW IT". Sure, it means insulting each other and climbing on top of the dead bodies, but if it means we stand up against being fucked over by companies who depend on us but don't care about us, doesn't even the smallest step mean something?

I don't know about you, but I'm going to get out my minigun and keep firing at it until there's nothing but a bloody smear.

This whole thing is really interesting and funny in a number of ways. First off, the people on Consumerist crying about omg their sacred poll being overrun by 12 year olds - wow, talk about an overreaction. Winning = a golden poo and a letter sent to the company, not some kind of "corporate makeover" to fix the issues the company has. BofA has won before and it hasn't done anything to make them change. EA already released a snarky statement to Kotaku, and they're going to write the whole thing off as ME3 overreaction - this is actually probably the worst timing for a wake up call for them about how they treat customers and employees, since they won't even bother to consider some of the actual things people are mad about and just chalk it up to 'fanboy rage ( ... )

I also found that and overreaction. Do they seriously believe that a gold poo will change the way the company works and give people back what they lost?
Hardly. I'm pretty sure they company would have a laugh about that.

I did laugh at this bit though: "Traditionally, the Poo has been delivered on its little red pillow. But this year, we'll give EA three different color options"

I've not been a fan of EA and its policies for years; you see the stories going round the web...about art they usurped and never paid for, about their 'cutting corners'policies regarding their game developing-latest example of which is, of course, ME3. To me, they have always seemed like the kind of company who doesn't much care about product quality, only money. And yeah, of course, all game companies-all companies, period-are about turning in profits at the end of the day, but it's always seemed EA only ever cared about that, at the expense of their own products and their consumers-who should be paramount, no people to buy their games, no EA!

Aside from that, that poll's timing was perfect, admittedly; with the ME3 debacle, of course EA would win this title-they probably should have won it ages ago, though!

I wonder if they'll even care; for me, they should. It's a tough economy all round...losing paying customers, no matter the company's size and delusions of safety-who is safe these days, after all?-should warrant their
