I told myself I wasn't going to do this, but I just cannot let what happened to Jacob (and my poor Faith Shepard) lie. Here's a brief (very rough) summary of how, with the addition of one message and the changing of one or two dialogues, I would salvage the Jacob romance.

Fixing Jacob in ME3 (includes spoilers) )

I wish it had gone like this, too. I was really upset that they basically screwed over anyone who liked Jacob. Some kind of acknowledgement of the romance would have been awesome. If it's not perfect, that's fine...but something. This would have been 1,000xs better than what we got. Boo.

I approve of this.

I've never personally romanced Jacob (I have a Garrus-fixation - it's not a problem, really *twitches*), so when I first encountered him in ME3 and he was with Brynn, I was THRILLED. I thought that BioWare had gone that little extra mile to show that just because Shepard didn't romance him didn't mean that he wasn't going to move on with his life. THEN after I finished the game, I found out that he moves on NO MATTER WHAT, romanced or not. And while I can see WHY BioWare wanted to have a relationship not turn out perfectly, the way that it was handled was just AWFUL. I think that what you've written up here would have been a much better way to go about it. Like you said, it's still not the happy reunion that Jacobmancers would have been looking for, but it seems more true to the characters than what BioWare ultimately gave.

So, yeah, kudos on this.
