take me out

I started to write something more personal, but I've deleted it and decided I'm not ready to write about it. To re-examine later.

Gray day. Not raining. Not not raining. That half-measure where you occasionally feel a drop on your face, but nothing is really visible in the air.

Seeing Franz Ferdinand with V tonight. Thinking sweetgreen for dinner, since there's one close to Lansdowne Street, and just hoping it won't be too crowded. Sure, I had sweetgreen last night, but it has its variety; I needn't order the same thing again.

Speaking of last night, Rampage was surprisingly entertaining. Very silly, not a thoughtful movie, but an excellent monster movie in the "Godzilla destroys Tokyo" sort of tradition. The villains are cartoonishly villainous and meet cartoonish fates. Dwayne Johnson's character is presented as almost a misanthrope, but he gets over it in a crisis. (Really, it's a very thin veneer, but in a movie requiring full suspension of disbelief, it's a little thing.) I'm not sure I would've paid to see it based on the trailers I've seen for it, but having gone, I'll admit I did enjoy it--and the audience reactions all around me, which were an entertainment all their own.

The university Fitbit challenge goes apace. I've regained the lead on my team, but I don't even rank on university's overall front-runners.

Well, I'll be walking to Fenway from South Boston, so that'll help my standing. Then there's the usual bopping around (not quite dancing) to come at the show. So I could potentially make it into the top 50 by the end of the day (she wrote optimistically).
