I don't get it when authors of M-rated fanfiction give forewarning of, or apologise for sexytimes and/or cursing in their authors' notes. Why the devil is your fic rated M if there are none of the above? I consider an M rating a promise of sexytimes, quite frankly. And if the audience feels okay with the sexytimes, a little cursing probably isn't going to bother them either, is it?

So apologies? No. And forewarning? Don't announce "here are the naughty bits!" at the beginning of the chapter! Surprise the audience!
