I don't know why, but that quote came to mind quite suddenly. Huh.
Returning to the plot tangent of G and A has not been nearly as frustrating as I'd anticipated. In point of fact, it's helping me mentally iron out other details I've left on the side.
And then there's the 15-page conversation of tremendous explication between F & C. What I began writing on the train this morning might spell out a reasonable conclusion to segue into an epiphany for my protagonist--along with a swift end to this chapter.
Sometimes everything just flows out. Other times--*swat-swat-swat*--blood from out the rock.
It was a little past midnight when I passed 9,000 words, and I'm hoping to make it to 11,000 before I let myself sleep tonight. Fingers crossed for reasonable momentum.
Chief present writer-based anxiety: I still have no idea how to end it. Every logical conclusion feels melancholy and flat. Then again, it's fantasy. Maybe it doesn't need a logical conclusion ... More considerations to eat away at my brain. JOY.
