Several movies in the rumour mill, but I just learned of this one from
trilogyqueen:
Indy 5 And, as I said to her, I'd like to be excited about it ... if I weren't also worried for Ford's safety. If they go through with it, they'd better not be allowing him to do his own stunts.

None of the True Blood season finale links on surfthechannel.com were working last night, so I opted to watch the rerun of the VMA's after all the to-do-ing about it yesterday on Twitter.
The performances were interesting, and some of them amusingly awkward. You know I'm talking about Pink and Lady Gaga. One of them aspires to join the Cirque du Soleil and the other had a bird's nest on her head most of the evening.
The awards ... does MTV even air videos anymore? How do they have awards for videos when the majority of the programming is reality TV crap? I'm feeling old and don't understand. Green Day won something. Is that weird to anybody else in my age bracket?
Russell looked uncomfortable to be there for what little there was to be seen of him. It seemed like he was shouting a lot, that his customary exuberance went overboard. I'd say maybe it was nerves, but he's done the gig before, and they liked him enough to bring him back. Hmm.
The Swift/West/Beyonce thing--meh. Musical big-head being a douchebag? SHOCKING. Really, though, why did security let him on stage when the award clearly had nothing to do with him? I get the idea that somebody got fired after that incident.

Well, finished reading The Three Musketeers, and now better appreciate the Michael York version from the 70s.
Read A Study in Scarlet. Mormons are like the Scientologists of the bad old days, huh? Well, they attracted that kind of horrifying speculation, anyway. For the purposes of the story, it felt a bit arbitrary to use them at all. Did they need to be Mormons? Did they even need to be Americans? Anyway, I'm thinking about moving onto
The Sign of the Four next on the free ebook list, since it looks like a quick read.
Also reading Sandman Vol. 2: The Doll's House and Matthew Pearl's The Dante Club. Sandman is a continuation of my re-reading. Dante Club is going slowly out of the gate, as I'm not really caring about any of the main characters yet. It's hard to apply distinctive faces to them when I've seen their old-man-portraits many times--most of which bear a strong resemblance to ancient goats. I like casting the parts when I read, and that's not happening here (and not for lack of trying).

I'm feeling a little off lately, so if I disappear (again) ... well, don't take it personally.
For the moment, however, this excites me: Eddie Izzard's tour is coming to Boston in January, and I'm going to see him!
