Do you read or write fanfiction?
I read fanfiction often, but I've never written any.

When did you first start reading/writing fanfiction?
I think it was some time late in high school. I didn't know that such things existed until a friend began bringing her Hanson fanfiction to the cafeteria during lunch--an act that completely turned me off to fanfiction for several years. Hanson? You're writing stories about Hanson? You marry a Hanson kid and have his babies? What is this codswallop?! I think I imagined that all fanfiction must be this horrifying, so I kept my distance for a long time. Then, maybe senior year, I was looking for a free online text version of the book that was released when the Labyrinth movie came out. I found it and several "sequels" by an author called Judith Agrathea ...

What was your first fandom?
Picking up where the last question left off, my first fandom was Labyrinth.

First ship?
Sarah/Jareth ... and a few Jareth/OFC stories.

What website do you use most?
Fanfiction.net is my most common go-to. They have story alerts, so there's no need to go looking for updates constantly.

What do you think of Fanfiction.net?
It's fine. They're a little more finicky about content than LJ or AFF.net, but they're also more organised.

What fandoms have you written in?
I've never written in any fandom--but I've had cameo appearances in the Nolanverse Gotham, much thanks to some fun writers.

What pairings have you written for?
N/A

Any fandoms you would like to write in?
I've nearly considered writing in the Nolanverse. Nearly.

Do reviews affect how you write in any way?
Yes, but that's original work ...

Do you use a beta?
Not really, though people who read occasionally make me aware of a typo or continuity errors.

What ratings do you read/write?
I read everything. I don't believe in limiting myself where imagination is concerned.

What warnings have you used on your fiction?
N/A

Do you have any squicks?
Not really. MPREG, maybe--but it's not so much a squick as it is an "I don't understand" kind of issue.

Do you Role-play online?
No. I tried a Torchwood RP once, and it just didn't fly with me.

Have you ever stolen something from another person's work?
I've thought about doing a modern adaptation of the Edmund/Edgar/Gloucester storyline from King Lear, with Edmund as my anti-hero of the piece; but aside from that, no.

Favourite fandom to write/read?
I've read a lot of TDK fanfiction over the last year. It's quite plentiful, though a lot of it is recycled and derivative.

Favourite pairing?
Sarah/Jareth is my first and probably still my favourite pairing. I can imagine kleogade being grossed out hundreds of miles away.

How long should a chapter be?
I'm with ssquirrel_fic -- "As long as it needs to be!"

Do you write/read drabbles?
Sure.

Any fandoms you avoid?
I don't think I've ever needed to avoid a fandom actively. I mean, they don't search me out or anything. There are plenty of fandoms I've never read, just because I'm not interested in their source material either.

Warnings you avoid?
None. Actually, the more warnings, the more my mind goes: Oh, really? Fantastico. Let's find out what that's all about!

What do you think of Mary Sues?
Like fanfiction canon characters, there are good interpretations and bad interpretations. I've read some class act Mary Sue fics. The works of losyark and missmozell come to mind.

Have you ever flamed someone?
No. I've offered constructive criticism that is sometimes interpreted as flaming, but my concerns could usually be fixed with spell-check or a decent beta. I avoid commenting on plot development, because it's not my story and I believe the author is free to use the characters as he or she sees fit.

Have you ever been flamed?
I've been flamed by authors for some of my reviews in disagreements about canon (like the fact that Harvey Dent's coin has two heads--the author insisted there was a tails) and whether or not a beta or a spell-check is required. I understand about typos and homonyms and alternative spellings in the States and the UK, but if an author refuses to employ spell-check, I stop reading them.

A real entry to follow ... eventually.
