So now, every time I cough, my entire left side (and I mean up my neck, down my arm to my fingertips, and down my leg to my toes) tingles. That's weird, right?
Mum: Sounds like a spasm.
Only affecting my entire left side?
Mum: May be from coughing so much. Did you finish the medicine you got? Codeine can have side effects.
I stopped taking it last week... And then I had some more last night when the odd numbing tingling began to happen.
Mum: Stop taking the codeine. Opioids are not safe.
Great. I don't think the entire left-side throb of pins and needles is exactly safe either--but then, you win some, you lose some.
Mum: Watch House last night? Pain killers are dangerously addictive. Codeine is also one of the addictive drugs.
... Can we please not relate this scenario to House M.D.? I know that codeine is addictive--I hadn't taken any since last week when I started to feel better!
And then she advised that I go back to the doctor if it continues. So when do I decide that enough is enough of this?
