out of the woods yet?

So ... Friday I found out that I have bronchitis (big surprise), and they sent me off with a codeine cough-syrup prescription. Well, not literally "with"; according to regulations, they had to fax the prescription to my pharmacy of choice. Something to do with opiates. Anyway, I picked the CVS on the walking path of Essex St.

1.5 hours later, I had arrived at the pharmacy but the faxed prescription had not. The pharmacist recommended that I check back later. Yeah, no thanks. It would be too easy to go home, have dinner, and hunt down ibuprofen to take care of the tension headache building from the neck up. Instead, I took a seat off to the side to wait. Half an hour later, the pharmacist was passing by with the day's garbage and spotted me. "Oh, I didn't know you were there! I just got three more faxes in," she announced. "What's your name again?"

And one of the faxes was, indeed, mine. Huzzah! ...

"A lot of insurance companies don't cover cough medicine," she said, entering my insurance card's information into the database.

"Ah..."

And a few moments later: "Yeah, it doesn't look like they're going to cover it."

"How much is it then?"

"Twelve or fourteen dollars--is that going to be a problem?"

"Do you take debit cards?" I asked, knowing I only had five dollars left in my wallet. Not that I couldn't have found an ATM, but still ...

"Yes."

"Then, it's no problem."

Yesterday consisted of fitful napping, movies, and an audio-book.

The Bourne Identity, the first third of The Witching Hour, Cursed on SciFi, Tombstone on The History Channel, and X-Men 2 on FX.

Today has been more of the same, but I'm feeling much better than yesterday. I wish I could've done the Walk for Hunger, as planned, but it's probably for the best that I didn't. I listened to the rest of The Witching Hour, napped some more, and have been on-and-off watching Rose Red on SciFi since noon. It's probably giving my old house ideas...

14.50 -- Haha, Stevie just made his traditional appearance. As the pizza deliveryman.

In case that doesn't make sense to anyone, Rose Red is a Stephen King mini-series, and King has a habit of making brief cameos in his films (many, but not all).

books, television, sick!, movies
