remember when Tom was just cute and not CRAZY?

Minus the inclement weather and the few hours of headache (and self-inflicted exile to nap and rid myself of said headache), New Year's Eve was a good time. We went out in the middle of the afternoon, which also happened to be the middle of the six- to ten-inch downfall, to get groceries--John driving, because that would have been impossible for me. The grocery store is about two miles from here, and we only spent ten or fifteen minutes in the store, but the trip still lasted for over an hour--thanks to the snow on the road and the snail-paced plow trucks. Good job, England 2.0.

When we arrived home, pajamas were the order of the day.

Good food, lots of beverage, lots of cookies (oh, too many cookies), good company.

New Year's Day consisted of more cookies, more drinking, more pajamas, and more lazing around with video games and movies.

Still haven't broken out the fuck-you-up absinthe. Maybe that will go on the list for later tonight ...

My Blu-ray player can now access my Netflix Instant Queue via the ethernet, which is kind of exciting. And addictive. I think I added over fifty new movies to the queue between last night and this morning. Yes, the director's cut of Legend is in that queue.

Must watch High Fidelity before it disappears FOREVER. Or, if I forget, I can just have them send me the DVD in the mail like I was going to before the Instant Queue entered my life.

Went to Fountain Place for breakfast. Threw some found pennies into the frozen fountain on Essex Street on the way back from breaking the fast, and--much like my toast of the night before--just wishing for better things in 2009. That ought to be vague enough for something good to come of it. I mean, I could be more ambitious, but beggars can't be choosers.

... And now continuing with the lazing theme of the week ...

netflix, holidays, rohnia, weather, food, shopping, revels, movies, sick!, in vino veritas
