Religulous was interrupted by a theatre emergency of some kind. All the screens spilled out onto the street for about half an hour. They didn't share what had happened, but it can't have been anything serious.
When the movie was over, I exited the theatre to the sight of protesters and picketing.
"Well, what do you expect? Bill Maher is attacking people's religions ..."
No. No, no.
They were picketing Blindness.
This movie is a lie and Blindness is not a curse
Also, I love Bill Maher. I loved Politically Incorrect and I love this movie.
For a trip down memory lane--a few days ago I was remembering staying up late just to watch the Politically Incorrect panel discussion with Florence Henderson and Marilyn Manson (who were basically BFF by the end of the discussion), and went to look for it:
