In an attempt to monitor my calcium intake, I returned to SparkPeople.
My suggested range is 100-150.
With the meals I have planned for today, my actual intake? 175.
I am now getting too much calcium. So maybe I can cut the Tums.
... I also don't think SP understands the value of good salad. I mean, yes, if your salad is just a pile of iceberg lettuce, of course it's only 40 calories in 3 cups. But what if you add peppers and mushrooms and carrots and bean sprouts and cucumbers and broccoli? I think that changes the cal/cup ratio. And I have no idea how many ounces of chicken I put in my salad. A scoop. How much does a scoop weigh? How much feta am I using? No idea.
Granted, I'm not worrying about it too much, because it's salad. But it would be nice to get a fair estimate on fiber and protein, because I think I'm getting more fiber than SP estimates. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
Hey, guess what's for dinner?
Leftover salad in a lavash wrap with garlic hummus. Mmmm.
