In family news...
So my brother emails everyone a few weeks back to inform us that he has a new girlfriend. He's bringing her with him to the parental unit's place for Christmas so we'll all get a chance to meet her. OK, that's all fine and good. Then about a week ago, he sends a bitchy email informing us all that his job is not going to be upgraded to a tenure-track position, and that he is going back into the job market next year to look for a new job. He casually mentions that his girlfriend wouldn't mind leaving the state of Colorado and getting a new job herself. I comment to Mom, "Doesn't he sound pretty serious about this woman?"
Then I get an email the other day from him with a link to his Yahoo photo gallery. Lotsa pics of the girlfriend, he says, because now they are engaged to be married.
Engaged!
After the shock wears off, I realize that my brother could have been potentially dating this woman for months and just not told any of us. That's how it is in our family. We don't talk about our love lives until someone is serious enough to bring home to the parents.
On the other hand, it could just be a whirl-wind romance.
My only comment on it, besides "Congradulations", will be, "I expect neices and nephews!"
