Weeellll, it's been a while, eh? Most of January was spent getting Axeman healed up. We slept a lot, ate really good home-cooked food, played computer games, watched movies and went to Dr appointments. It was kind of like early retirement. He's back to work now, and has been for about a month. It's not been an easy transition, and he's still got some rehab to do, but things are looking up.
I interviewed for a couple really good positions and ended up accepting a job at my old employer, but with a completely different division. I'll be working for my former boss, and that is AWESOME. I start in a little less than 2 weeks now. It was a crazy week or so while I interviewed and waited on offers, and nice to have a couple options to play off each other. I've had to fax and Fed Ex documents back to NJ, take a urine drug test (oh joy) and follow up with on-line forms and all kinds of bureaucratic stuff. At least I knew what I was getting into!!
I'm very excited about the opportunity and am now trying to wrap up all the house projects we had started and do those last few fun things that I didn't get to do yet.
Yesterday I went to the SciFi portion of the EMP museum in town, to see the Start Wars Costume exhibit. It was amazing and super cool. I'm glad I went on a quiet week day so I could get up close to things and not have to fight crowds to see/read/inspect. Lots of Padme outfits and qutie a few pieces from the older trilogy as well. I was in heaven!
We've had some plumbing issues at the house that we'd put off since we bought it 8 years ago and we're finally dealing with them. We've got most of it fixed, but there's one more issue that needs attention and then we'll get the painters and patchers in to repair all the holes in the walls. That might not get completely done before I go back to work, but we'll figure out something.
We've had gorgeous weather this winter, unlike a lot of the rest of the country and I really should get out and start my garden, but I haven't been very motivated yet. Too many things to take care of inside the house. I'll probably get things planted after I travel to Denmark (yep, I get to go back for a visit right away.)
Now that I might have actual interesting things to report I'll try to check in more often.
