It was my turn to be sick last week, but it passed pretty quickly. Monday I could feel that something wasn't quite right, but attempted to keep a normal schedule. I got errands run and some housework done, but by evening I knew I was 'in for it'. Tuesday I took it easy as much as I could, but had a pre-planned coffee date for an informal job opportunity chat, so I geared up and met my friend. It was a good conversation and helpful to keep learning about what's out there (good and bad!), but I was tired and hoarse when I got back. Wednesday and Thursday I was down for the count, and spent almost the whole time on the couch playing video games. I napped and fed myself, but that was about it! I had planned to officially restart my Combat program last week, but that got delayed. I'll be cranking it up starting tomorrow, though!
By Friday I was feeling a million times better and went for a walk/hike around Carkeek Park with HDJU (former Combat buddy and co-worker), and cleaned up the house again. I got another heads up on a possible job on Friday morning and promptly applied for it. This one has the most potential to date -- it meets most of my requirements for both position and location, AND I know a few of the people there from prior jobs. I had, however, finally decided that I wouldn't bother looking until after Christmas, and purchased plane tickets to visit my family back East in December, as well as mentally just relaxing into having a couple months of ME time. Heh. Nub and I went out for lunch and to the ballet yesterday. It was the Director's Choice show and there were 4 'acts'. I liked them all, but my favorite was one called Rassemblement, with hauntingly beautiful French/Creole music and a sort of voodoo theme to it, very different from classcial moves.
I finished the PS3 Hobbit LEGO game, well 99.2% of it. There's one 'mission' to get a brick that is impossible (for me anyway) to finish. I did some research and a lot of folks have had trouble with it too. I followed some of their troubleshooting, but that didn't help (you have to actually change display settings on your unit!) and I figured I'm close enough to done. :) Axeman's playing Assassin's Creed 3, and then we'll install the PS4 we got ourselves for an early Christmas present.
I finally put together and used my new "Sharknado" vacuum. I LOVE it! I see why it go so many rave reviews on Amazon. It is lightweight, relatively quiet and did a great job cleaning. My floors are almost slippery now, they're so clean. The bare floor attachment has these re-usable fabric pad things that velcro on, and wipe the floor as it vacuums up the big stuff. Very nice.
Reading: didn't do much reading this week, unfortunately
Watching: Raced through 7 episodes of the Star Wars: Rebels show. LOVE it! (Shhhh, but I think it might be better than the Clone Wars...eep), caught up on SHIELD, watched the extended Desolation of Smaug, and rented Maleficient, which I enjoyed very very much.
