A Milestone....

Last Friday, Steve and I experienced a sort of milestone in our relationship; I was added to Steve insurance policy as his domestic partner. In 2007, that really isn't that big a deal...but it felt really good. We had to prove cohabitation for at least a year and prove that we share financial resources. Once the form was notarized, it was official.

I waffle as to whether of not I want to have an official commitment ceremony. On one hand, I feel it's not necessary. I love Steve and I know he loves me. It seems kind of redundant. And I've done the whole wedding thing (albeit a straight wedding).  The other side of me says that we deserve it, just like any straight couple. I want to proclaim my love for him in the presence of family and friends...I want to celebrate that I've found the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with. We've talked quite a bit about it...we probably will someday.

Our friend Warren (
teachingcub) came to visit us this weekend.  On Friday night I cooked dinner and invited (
cincycub) to join us...he was able to fit us into his very tight social schedule. Steve had to work on Saturday...Warren and I had breakfast and watched one of my favorite movies, The Family Stone. For lunch, Warren and I headed to Newport on the Levee for Dewey's Pizza....MMMM.

On Saturday night we attended Things That Go Pump In The Night....a fundraiser for the Cincinnati Men's Chorus. It was a fun time.

Steve had to work on Sunday also, so Warren and I hung out and had some great conversation...I'm so thankful that I have a friend that I can tell EVERYTHING to. Warren gets me...judgement free. I love you Warren!

Steve and I spent Sunday evening watching TV and doing laundry. Sounds boring, I know; but I'm so fortunate to have Steve as my official domestic partner!
