Linux, do you want to take my Alpha Centauri

Ok, first off the subject is stupid yes. I just decided to use the word linux alot, and see what kind of trouble it gets me into. We shall see.

But, I do wanna install Alpha Centauri on Linux. I remember reading that it would be possible somehow. I have to try looking up info on that.

I haven't played Alpha Centauri alot with human players (only robots and aliens) so I'm not that familiar with playing SMAC multiplayer games. The thing with them is that they are rather intimidating because of the many tactics you can use in the game. I'm not really sure if my tactics are only effective against AI. And human players tend to have more logic / illogic in their diplomacy. Piss someone off, and they really are out for your blood. And there's oh so many more ways to go about spilling blood or in general making someones life harder when there is three or more players. When someone gets too powerful, the game is not yet over because the other players are more likely to make an alliance against the leading player. The alliance can also be effective in other aspects of the game on top of the normal military alliance. Science for example, if one faction studies only one area of science and then everyone in the alliance shares their tech, they might even surpass the leader. That's only a theory but I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Oh my, who's up for a game on friday/saturday?
