Lloyd paced his room slowly as the sun began to rise in the distance. He was going to leave for Iselia this morning, he had been here too long and ... well, there were other reasons, but he didn't much like to think about them. He also hadn't seen Dirk in a long while and he wanted to pay respects to his mother's grave. There was only one thing left to do - say "goodbye for now" and head on his way.

Colette, regardless of how many times she had stayed in Lloyd's room over the past couple of months, always knocked when she knew Lloyd was there. It was his room, after all, and she was simply a guest in the house. After knocking, she poked her head through the door, smiling as wide as she could at Lloyd, trying to balance two plates of breakfast without dropping them, tripping and landing face first in them. The usual. "Good morning!"

He turned and smiled back at her but his smile was more strained and far less bright in comparison. He hadn't really smiled outside of the Disaster in a long time, though he doubted anyone really noticed. "Hey, Colette," he said, "Come on in, you dork! I've told you before that you don't have to knock every single time you want to come in here." He pulled on one of his gloves as he spoke, "What's that?"

"Breakfast!" If it was possible, her smile grew, as if she was making up for Lloyd's strained one. "I-I thought you might like something before you left and I didn't want to bother anyone else." She did as she was told, placing one plate on the bedside table for Lloyd before sitting herself on the bed. "I'm sorry if I cooked the bacon too much, and if the eggs are too runny I can always go back and try again!"

"Nah, I love your runny eggs and black bacon..." he said with a slight twinge of a blush. He took a moment to glance back out the window, "because you made it for me, you know? Ahaha... um. Colette... I wanted to apologize for what happened during the Disaster. It was..." Okay, his was was turning a nice shade of red now, "Uh. Sorry." So awkward.

Colette turned a deep red as well, "N-no! I-it's okay!" She stumbled over a few more words, still flailing as much as she could from where she sat. "I-it wasn't bad? I mean..." She bit her lip, chewing on the bottom and avoiding looking at him. It hadn't been a bad thing, even when she wasn't Distastered. It was... nice? Yes, nice was the word she was looking for. But she still could feel herself turn even redder.

"N-No!" he said just a little too quickly. He flinched at his own quickness but ignored it, it wasn't important. "I mean... It felt kind of....right. I don't know." He shifted his weight to one leg in his usual relaxed pose, "I care about you, Colette. I don't want to do anything you don't want to do." He was looking directly at her now, trying to keep his gaze fixated on her. It was now or never, right? "I...." Awkward silence. "Love you, you know?"

"M-me?" She blinked, but then suddenly jumped up and wrapped her arms around his neck in a biggest hug she could manage, even if it meant standing on her toes and knocking her own plate to the ground. "I- I love you, too!" And she did. Which is why she hadn't minded, not at all. And why she liked spending time in his room even when he wasn't there and all those other things. And he loved her, which was the most important thing.

Lloyd hesitated for about two seconds before wrapping his arms around her too, but her waist, not her neck. "...I'm glad," he said after a few seconds of just holding her. "I'm...not done with my journey. It's going to be dangerous and...long, probably. The Cores, the Exspheres... and bringing equality to the people of this world. I'll probably never finish, or die trying... but I don't want to lose the chance to be with you because of it. So... I want you to come with me, Colette. If you're with me, I can handle anything."

"You'll make it," she said, nodding into his chest. "I know you'll make it." Tightening her grip, she looked up and smiled at him, trying to give him some sort of comfort. "You'll make it because you're Lloyd." After a few more seconds, she nodded again, still smiling. "I want to come." Then she won't have to worry about him, wonder when she'll see him again because he'll be right there. And that's enough for her.

He threads his fingers through her hair a little bit, a sure sign of affection. "I was thinking of heading back to Iselia today. I haven't seen dad in a while and I'm sure everyone there misses you. Plus... I don't think I really need to stay here anymore, you know? Kratos has the person he was looking for and his kids... they're his future. All I do is remind him of his past." Lloyd shrugged and glanced out the window, "There's a lot out there for us."

Her smiles turns sad as she reaches to touch his cheek. "He loves you." It's not much, but she hoped it would give him some comfort. "I haven't been to Iselia in a while."

Just a little bit of comfort, but it doesn't really make him think differently about the situation. He leaned into her touch and sighed a little bit, "I know. It's been a while for me, too, because I've been here and... haven't really dropped in. After Iselia... I guess we'll just go where ever the wind blows us."

"Then I'm sure they'll be glad to see you again. Especially your dad." Her smile widened as a thought occurred to her. "We could visit our friends - take the train and check in on them! I wouldn't mind seeing all of them again." And if Lloyd was worrying about dying on their adventures, then it was best to see all of them one last time.

"Yeah! I miss him a lot. He's been watching Noishe for me. Of course, we should see all of our friends. It'll be fun! We have to be careful, though. The Vanguard...they're still after me, Colette. And they're probably after you too, right? I don't doubt it. We're going to have to be careful." Lloyd said with a frown. It was true - the Vanguard was still very much alive and kicking. And dangerous. And while he was a great fighter, he couldn't fight off a hoard of them at once.

She nodded. "We'll be okay. I know we will." Taking his other hand in her's, she gave it a slight squeeze. They'd work things out, even if something happened. They had before, they would again.

"Okay! We'll leave soon, then. Do you have everything you need?" he asked with a smile, "make sure you've got everything!"

"I didn't bring much to begin with!" She grinned at him before moving away but only to quickly find the things she brought with her. Which wasn't a lot - they were all used to traveling light.

"All right," he said as he moved to his own small pack, "Do you think we should say good-bye? I mean...it's still pretty early and I don't want to disturb anyone. Plus, we come and go all the time." He strapped it across his back and slipped his swords into the right place.

"Perhaps we should leave a note?" She had finished gathering everything up by that time, all neatly packed away in her bag. "I'm sure they won't mind."

"Hm, okay. Hey...Colette..." He said as he moved in her direction, "Do you think...we could do that again? What we did during the disaster?" Yep, he's blushing again.

"T-That thing?" She looks at her feet, probably just as red as he is. "W-well I wouldn't mind... But only if you don't!"

"I don't mind! We love each other, right? So it's only natural to be... uh, boyfriend and girlfriend, right?" He said as he pumped his fist into the air, "that means we're together forever!" Not exactly, but the sentiment was nice, right?

"Right!" As if Colette was going to argue that point. They'll get around to it sooner or later. She laughed, grinning up at him. "Through thick and thin!"

"Haha, yeah!" He laughed too, and turned on his heel. "So...should we get going? Dirk will punch me if we come in too late. You know how he gets about his sleep." "Mm!" She grinned wider, hurrying up to keep in step with him. "We'll have to walk quickly."

"Haha yeah. Maybe you could even fly!" He said while spreading his arms, "That'd be fast too, right?" "I could carry you!" So saying, she spread her own wings, mimicking his spread arms.

"You sure? I'm pretty heavy, you know..." he teased, "You think you can handle me?" "Well we can always find out! I promise not to go too high," she said, darting past him.

"You can go high!" he laughed as he followed, "I'm not afraid of heights!" "As high as I want?" She wouldn't go that high, just in case she dropped him. "Well, as high as we can go without being in danger." He nodded his head, and made a reach for her hand, "So...let's go."

She took it, squeezed it once again, and then shot up into the sky, grinning.
