My, my - this is quite an unconvential kidnapping.
[His expression is solemn, though not without frustration, not without urgency, for such things are to be expected, it would be entirely unnatural were he without such subtleties. However, his lips are set in a small, almost nonchalant smile - in fact, he even seems a little amused, as if there's

Schneizel. that's who this is. (his) Schneizel who has been Geassed? or Schneizel from an earlier time? he can't tell from just this, but he hasn't immediately tried to find Nunnally or himself yet. but, no need to assume something he doesn't know... maybe that's the information he wants. not, of course, that Suzaku will mind as much. he just wants to know. ]

no, that's the last thing he wants. this is not something to be indecisive about. ]

if Schneizel wants information, 'Suzaku' can give him that much. 'Zero', on the other hand... ]
Ah. [ except he doesn't... know how to answer. ;; ] What information do you need, Schneizel?

He expected this. His brother and his confidantes were not likely to go without noticing him, after all - he credited them with more than that.
And so it isn't a surprise to hear that voice, and yet, to hear it first, before any other...
How very like you, Suzaku, always perfectly on cue.
He smiles again.]

There's an ever so slight air of indulgence to his expression as he meets Suzaku's eyes.]
Anything of note regarding our current circumstances would be welcomed, when I find myself so lamentably lacking.

almost immediately it clicks and for a moment there's bitterness (because it's depressing) but he has to make sure he supposes-- ] Lelouch is here, but the Empress isn't; and, it's impossible to leave.
[ he fixes his tone quickly, though, leaving room for resignation of some sort. ] You've figured out that this is a dream world of sorts [ as expected ] -- the device you're using right now can broadcast dreams, as well, against your will.
Was there something specific you wanted to know?

But then he hears that title: the Empress.
And they may hold equal importance, but it certainly grabs his attention.]

Suzaku continues speaking and he hears him, he listens, taking in the information and considering it. He's trapped here indefinitely, to face dreams (his own? others?). Interesting, frustrating, but his focus is on those earlier words. The Empress.
And he notes then that Suzaku did not say 'His Majesty', as Schneizel had anticipated from one so staunchly righteous in his cause, so adhering to cloaks and titles and whatever twisted conviction he possessed that served as honour.
There is little doubt in his mind as to who the Empress in question could be - he'd crafted that himself, after all, had used it when Pendragon was reduced to nothing but a hollow, a crater, nothing at all.
But this - this does not follow any rhyme or reason.]

The current situation, then. He's trapped indefinitely. How, or why, he doesn't know - but it seems a question people here can only speculate on. Why, perhaps this is all just a dream - regardless, when it comes down to it, Suzaku has already told him what matters.
So, then...]

And what of our ninety-ninth Emperor, then?

[ still Schneizel, lacking the former submission Zero'd somewhat (hoped for) expected. assumed to be an enemy (not hoped for, not wanted).

Because it's connected, surely, it's all threaded together. He just has to find the knots.
With a gleam of amusement in his eyes, he arches a brow.]
Now that would be surprising.
[He looks at him, studies him openly, seeing so many faces there all at once, as if Suzaku is behind many panes of frosted glass.]
And what of you, Suzaku Kururugi?
[Neutral, but with genuine interest.]

and so, ] What of me... [ ah. ] If I'm... happy to see you, Schneizel?

Why, then wonders would surely never cease. It was a general enquiry.

To be completely honest with you, I don't know how I feel about you being here. At most, I'm relieved that you're here- unsettled, too, maybe. You're not as you were when you were always by my side, but from an earlier time -- that much I could tell when you called me by that name.
Quite frankly, I am happy. [ if you can call that twisting feeling in his gut happiness, of course. again, relief, enough relief to be some form of happiness, maybe ]

That is quite a contrast to this. Because this is clearly honesty - Schneizel finds himself without a doubt of that. There's a rawness in the words, in Suzaku himself, and Schneizel's wondering just what has transpired all over again.
But he speaks like some time has passed - it has, he supposes, but surely not in their world.
But what else could Suzaku mean?
He looks at him with an even stare, flat as a tile.
There are many questions on the tip of his tongue. He selects one.]
What name would you expect to hear from me? [And he allows the barb to slip in, too:] After all, you've held so many.
