MT Class as before. Audition info.
Well, we were a tad late, so the list of characters and such were already read, but it turns out MtM and I are folley(sp?) artists. I'm not sure if it's just us, but the guy mentioned that there were some minor characters he wanted us to play, but they have limited lines/parts, so to keep us busy, we'll bash coconuts together or something XO
Drama DI had us go through some breathing and warmup exercises. One involved holding a chair over your head, thus making your body breathe from the belly. There were a couple chairs short, so some of us had to grab a different kind of chair that's quite a bit heavier. I got a compliment, because I ended up holding a heavy one, along with the only two guys. My luck, eh?
There was some chatting and goofing around, then it was time to knuckle down. DI gave us girls some lines from the show she's currently working on, the Crucifix, but time was up before it got to the last three of us, MTM and I, along with Meg. My luck again, but what gives? I know I could have done as well as the others. One gal kept laughing, because the guy she was supposed to speak the angry!line to looked so pitiful. DI had been talking about seducing, and we only had two guys, so she had half to one line with one guy, and another line with another. This poor guy got the line where he gets screamed at. So..yeah...he was a little letdown about that, and the girl kept laughing.
Singing Went MUCH better today. We did the same two songs, and time flew by us. We had a mini-pep talk about putting ENERGY into the song. Overall, funfunfun. VT(vocal teacher) suddenly said, "Who here, by raise of hands, brought a pencil and paper for notes? Who brought a water bottle? Everyone else gets an F" Therefore, I passed. AND I brought extra copies of the lyrics. Mwhaha.
Dancing Didn't really do dancing. Instead, we did a looong relaxation exercise. We were all lying on the floor, and DT(dance teacher) is soothingly going through all this stuff about being on a beach. Then she says, "Now, all of you, get up when you're ready." And the guy who had the shouting line in acting? Well...he never got up. So many of us looked 'bleah' and ultra-relaxed, and he...had his face on the floor while the rest of us went around in a circle and talked about stress, and how to get past it. As a young adult herself, DT said to keep going.
All in all, another cool day! We were told that if someone backs out of a role(and it sounded like some of the people who got parts didn't show...), then MtM and I get it. I guess a small part would be best anyways. It was tough competition, but I really thought MtM would get a major role. It's kind of hard, because most roles are guys, and we only have THREE males in class at a time, and one of them is the creator of the show, and he's narrating. So he's having to rewrite some of it. Okay...I'm done! *sigh* And I'm gonna go eat some reheated pizza, and see if I owe RPG posts.
