Well, here it is, the first sighting of the new Umbro Design studio in Manchester. I accidently walked past it today on the way to post my tax forms off and found some photos on Frankie Roberto's Flickr.
I'm pretty excited.
It's opening in the Northern Quarter (pretty soon I'd imagine judging by what I saw inside- I peeped in over the whited out windows) look like they're trying to stay very in keeping with the Northern Quarter, and a bit Guerrilla style...
It makes me think that it's going to attract a different visitor to the Northern Quarter, the football fan. Where as it has been mostly known for it's live bands, independent bars and of course Afflecks, the Northern Quarter is changed in recent years, and I enjoy its constant evolution.
It's nice to see a design company in the heart of it. Hopefully it'll get Manchester design on the map a bit more...
