The Castiel POV tripped me up for the longest time. Goddamn angels and their disconnect. Also, "buttocks." I can't believe I used the word "buttocks" in a fic. But Castiel's view of the events was too clinical to use colloquialisms. GODDAMN ANGELS.

Also, I think I've been in too cracky a mood lately, because it was really difficult for me to not finish the fic like this:

Castiel furrowed his brow at the worried text message for a while, and then he took the cell phone

AND THREW IT ON THE GROUND!

This is by far the best h/c fic I have ever read. You nail everything in here, from Castiel's awkward mix between human and angel to Dean's bitterness, and I have to give you super props for writing an orgasm the way I always wanted to -- sex as a humanizing thing is such a kink for me, and I love the concept of it bringing Cas completely into his body for the first time.

But the thing that made me tear up was this throwaway line:

“This is like Christmas morning. Y’know, for kids that had a Christmas morning.”

It was just there in the middle of nowhere and it made me want to bawl. Poor Dean.

This was just WONDERFUL. Bravo.

Yeah, reading it now while I'm fully awake, I'm realizing it kind of wound up being the heart of the fic. It was originally supposed to be a really simple h/c that was only there to aid the porning, but I like this better.
