Writer's Block: Set the Scene

If you're looking to set the scence to successfully horrify me, none of these examples will work. It is not so much being alone that scares me because I'm pretty self-aware and content with myself. If you're really looking to put me into an awkward postition, put me in the same place I was last night. A twelve hour party consisting of teens swimming in bikinis, grinding to a DJ, and asking me to join. I sat in a chair on the outskirts all night and watched what I knew I would never be.

I was there under pre-determined circumstances. I was forced to go because I knew the hosts for quite some time. I will not look forward to my next homecoming, prom, birthday party, or similar event. Just let me stay home, read, and complain about my unsocialistic ways when I'm older. Since I'm not dancing, I'll regret it anyways. Might as well not waste my time hanging with the boy I should never and will never have.
