I should be asleep...

... but I'm not. I indulged in a nap this evening, after which I ate a wonderful dinner consisting of two chocolate chip cookies and a glass of water. Since then I've snacked on two carrots.

I'm actually starting to get a bit sleepy now, so I'll probably head off to bed soon.

I talked with my mom today. For the fourth week in a row, she still sounded upbeat. She's still not had any adverse reactions to the chemo. From the sounds of it, in many ways she's in better health now than she's been in the past decade, if not longer. She was quite talkative today, too, in a good way. I'm happy that she's doing better, and I'm hoping that it keeps up.

Yesterday was the aforementioned Japanese final. I'd meant to start reviewing it on Thursday, but the weather was so nice I went out and played in the dirt instead. Friday, I had a bit of a stressful and long day at work, which resulted in my forgetting to go to my evening appointment. I ended up playing DDR & ITG here at home until I was relaxed. Then, after surfing the net (while being chastised by Mike for not studying), I settled in for some review.

Saturday, I got up early to review, then headed off to school. I was the third to last person to turn in the test, but I remember that the midterm took me a while too. I'm not really fond of scantron type tests. I have a habit of transferring my answers incorrectly (I circle "A" on the test, but fill in "B" on the scantron), so I took a lot of time to check my answers, and then fill in the scantron, and then go back through to make sure the answers on the test matched the scantron.

I don't think I did too badly on the test, but I suppose I'll find out eventually. I would guess that I should be able to check my final grade this week, though that may not give me much indication as to how well (or not!) I did on the final.

I don't want to forget everything that I've learned over the summer. My pottery class should help with that, at least a little. I am planning to keep making flash cards and studying, though I think I'll try to focus more on the Kanji. At this point, I think I only know 50 or so, and my remembering those seems to still be a bit sporadic.

After class yesterday, I met up with Bryce and we went up to play boardgames in Rochester (Hills? It was somewhere way north of here.) It seems there is a new Ticket to Ride game out. We didn't play that one, but it has a new twist of having passengers, which I'd like to find out more about. I'll have to check it out the next time I go.

It turns out that Kent was there again, so we started out by playing a stock trading game with him. None of us found it all that challenging. I won, but it wasn't because of any strategy, but only because of one well timed sell. As it turns out, we weren't playing correctly. The prices we used for purchasing the stocks weren't correct. Even so, I doubt that would have made much of a difference.

After that, Bryce and I joined another group to play Around the World in 80 Days. This was a fun game, but again, one that didn't require too much strategy. I don't think it is one where the game would vary much from one play to the next.

Today was another DDR day, though I don't have any accomplishments to report, which I'm blaming primarily upon being too tired. I actually started to doze off while resting between rounds, only to be brought back by the dulcet tones of Cowgirl, which inspired me to play another round. Big mistake! I got through that song, but not with any finesse. After that, it was a quick ride downhill again. I confused the up and down arrows most of the day, which was quite frustrating.

Note to self: Try not to wake up at 5:30 AM on DDR days!

After DDR, it was back to the house for baking cookies. I sent some home with Jen, and the rest with Bryce.

Tomorrow, I'm planning for more playing in dirt, assuming that the weather is good. *yawn*
