I am glad I live in the Santa Cruz area... that kind of person hardly exists around here.
Morality loses out in these kind of discussions with me. Someone tried the "you are not old enough to know what you are talking about, you mirror of your parent's ideals" tactic on me before. This was a little ways into the conversation. Using my love of acting, I told him that my parents were dead, and that I lived with my grandfather, who is a Republican. The person totally freaked out about having brought that up, and started appologizing for it, and saying that they didn't really mean what they said. And then I laughed, and said that my parents were not in fact dead, and that I was highly amused that the person completely changed their opinion and said that it was all puff n' bluster. The person was entirely shocked, and had nothing that they could say. I promptly thanked the man for taking back what he said and admitting that I am capible of informing myself on "the issues," and I left laughing, happy that I smashed someone's ego.
Yes, juvenile, I know. But ever so satisfying. And Ian is easily amused by these sorts of things.
...Now... I know, that doesn't really help you at all. But still. It's a little amusing.
