1. My latest personal quest is to read all of the Hugo nominees in the novella/short story/novelette categories prior to the announcement of the winners. I've already read a couple and am enjoying myself immensely.
2. I took the financial plunge and subscribed to HBO for the forseeable future. My parents have always had it, and for the last several years have also had the other standard movie channels: Starz, Showtime, etc., and I couldn't go any longer without it. Finally this week I was able to catch up on Game of Thrones. I'll try to review it properly after the next episode this week, but suffice for the time to say that I'm quite pleased with it on the whole.
