I was told today that 3-4 mothers from the nearby kindergarten were looking for me yesterday. My first reaction was "What now?". It turns out, they were trying to find out if I would be taking on First Grade again next year, with their kids.
This feels like a vindication of sorts. It's nice to see that after three years in this school I have managed to a) build a reputation as a good teacher and b) not alienate everyone.
As flattering as this is, if I were asked about it and I had the option to answer honestly my answer would be: "I'd rather slit my own throat first!"
