Even if you are on the right path you will get run over if you just sit there.
As much as I'd hate to admit it, I'm still not toughened up enough after years of working in customer service. Just got shaken up by some hateful ass old man yelling about his local store not giving him the right discount on a lantern. He yelled at me for 15 minutes straight and no matter what I tried to tell him he just kept on about how he wanted a manager. Of course we don't actually have managers that talk to customers here, we have other reps who pretend to be managers on the phone for the sake of mentally appeasing people by thinking they've spoken to an authoritave figure. And they are also picky about agreeing to take a call. This guy didn't have a chance because he didn't even have a legitimate reason to talk to someone pretending to be a supervisor and his issue wasn't even related to the website but to a local store. But still there I am having to try to reason with this guy (which was impossible) and it actually bothered me that he said he wanted to have me fired because I couldn't MAKE the store on the other end of the country give him more of a discount.
Thought about it over my meatball sub at "lunch" tonight and I seriously need a new job, and soon. Probably with benefits since mine are nearing their expiration. Nothing in sales or customer service again though. So over that.
