When I read this, all I could think of was "Bitch, are you for real?" If other people talking about how systematic fucked up shit like racism negatively affects their lives and how media plays into that fucking chokes you? That sounds like some shit that is your privileged problem, not mine. Because you know what chokes me or harshes my squee? Not being able to watch and enjoy a show I started out heads over heels about because almost every character that even remotely relates to me (as either a poc, a woman, queer or a combination of the three HO SHIT THERE I GO TALKING ABOUT INTERSECTIONALITY I MUST BE AN ACAFAN) gets killed in various -- usually horribly fucked up -- ways and not even being surprised about the shit because that's just what happens to those characters on "normal" shows and HAS happened to those characters in a vast array of media for DECADES, if not longer.

I'm grinding my teeth and this was originally going to be a comment to sockkpuppett, and I was going to elaborate but they locked down their entry while I was typing this, so fuck it.
