Youth Forum

So I found a youth forum that has been helping me practice being more loving and patient.

I log onto it usually in the morning and the evening. There aren't a WHOLE lot of other posters (after all, it is a CS forum) but I go through the old posts too.

I'll come across a post that to me may seem entirely wrong. Now, I dunno if you know, but I like to 'correct' people, or I normally get offended by seemingly wrong posts. Well, I've found that this position is incredibly harmful even if I don't post a response. When that discomfort with an incorrect answer arises, I stop seeing both what the person is trying to say, and I'm prevented from loving that person completely.

So now I resist the urge to correct, even mentally. I'll go through the post again, trying to really understand and HEAR what they're trying to get across. I really try to understand. Even that first step makes me feel calmer and more loving. Even if I can't find anything that pops out in the post as right, I can now see how much love they put into their words (even unintentionally!). I can see that they're trying to work through a problem or help someone else with a problem.

This also helps me get a lot more help and joy from posts I feel do agree with my viewpoint. I end up working on loving every single person in the forum, and I just feel the love, which is such a continually filling experience. It's a great way to start my day, because I take that peace, contentment, and fulfillment with me to school.
