Kida mostly enjoys picking up girls and telling jokes (even though they're usually lame and/or unfunny). He has a happy-go-lucky personality and likes to befriend nearly everyone, and could be considered 'daring', depending on your level of shyness. He enjoys wandering around Ikebukuro and picking up trying to pick up girls. Kida has somewhat of a "dark past" (see: history!) and wants to move on and be known as a 'regular highschooler'. He dislikes Izaya Orihara, and states that he's one of the most dangerous men in Ikebukuro. Kida often gets nervous around him, but, as much as he doesn't like it, sometimes has to rely on his help.
Kida's "girlfriend" (they're technically together, but it's in a rather grey area), Saki, plays a big role in the second part of his personality. The not so happy, shiny, and rainbows part. He wants to escape his past, but can't - sometimes remembering Izaya's words that the past will catch up with him - as he knows he ran away from a situation with the Blue Squares attacking Saki. This kind of thing haunts him, as he doesn't like to remember it. Kida often tells himself he's going to visit her in the hospital and ask to break up with her, yet he never does. He is continuously trying to live a normal life and forget.
He often feels responsible for his friends and those around him, as shown by how he confronts the teacher that takes a liking to Anri, when she's in trouble, and even in the beginning, when he shows Mikado around and tells him who to stay away from and who to be friends with. And who to definitely not be enemies with. His feeling of responsibility is one of the things that leads Kida to face his past, as much as he avoids it. For the sake of Anri, he takes back the role as leader of the Yellow Scarves, the gang he made back in middle school and tried to move on from.
Kida's relationship with Mikado is likely the strongest he has. They were childhood friends before Kida moved away to Ikebukuro. The two kept in contact via the internet, and Mikado spoke of how he wished for a different lifestyle; Kida had just been accepted into Raira and it prompted him to suggest to Mikado to move to Ikebukuro. He moved, and Kida latched onto him instantly, as if they hadn't ever been apart - however, Kida is unaware of Mikado's involvement in the Dollars. In any case, Kida makes it a big deal to say to stay away from any gangs and people labelled as dangerous, and the two are now inseparable. They seemingly tell each other everything. Kida sees Mikado as a tie to the "normal" world, believing he is the picture-perfect person for 'normalcy' in Ikebukuro and acts towards him in a way a big brother might. Above all, though, they are best friends, and Kida's loveable, joking, and teasing personality shows itself most around him.
So, Kida currently holds the role as the leader of the Yellow Scarves. He re-joined as their leader after being begged to come back. The main reason for his return is because Anri was attacked by the Slasher, although Kida doesn't realise that Anri is the original Saika. The gang seems to take his orders quite well, although Kida dislikes being recognised as their shogun and prefers to be a bit more informal about it. Being back in the gang itself troubles him a little - after all, he wants his perfect life - but he still tries his best to keep it in the background and be as normal as he can be.
Overall, Kida is an energetic kind of guy, and he thinks he can get along with almost anyone. He's talkative and lively, but the receiving end may take it as being annoying rather than friendly.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
He's a pretty strong kid, as in, mentally, it seems. When necessary, he knows how to step up to the plate. His weaknesses are Izaya Orihara and talk of gangs/Saki.

Not really anything I haven't mentioned before, all I can think of to list that's important is his currently being the leader of the Yellow Scarves gang, unaware of his friends' identities, and I guess if you're interested in knowing, his blood type is A.

He pulls at his damp clothing, looking down at it like his clothes have suddenly become the enemy.]
Well, no one will care if I get naked, right? I bet there's loads of beautiful girls to be found around here~!

The city is rather beautiful. Kida's never seen anything like it before in his life. And who would think that there would be something hidden underneath the sea like this?
It's nothing like Ikebukuro. That place is only full of gangs and dangerous people. You can't trust anyone - finally, he would have his chance to just be a normal teenager, with a normal life. In an all new city, with all new people. And all new girls.
He found himself wishing that Mikado could be here, and even Anri. Their identities would be completely different. There's no Dollars, no Yellow Scarves, no rivalry. Just...a fresh start. He could make other friends, right? Of course, they wouldn't be as good as Mikado and Anri, but he would make do - people here have to be nicer, anywhere has to have nicer people than where he's from.
And who knows, maybe there will be a day when he gets to see them again. For now, this city offers exactly what he's wanted since middle school: to be rid of his past.
