Spawn More Overlords
I missed out on the Starcraft Pwning (due to work and running), but hopefully I'll be there employing the cheapest tactics possible.
So, this past weekend was a blast with an interesting party on Saturday night. I was scared because it was south of 12 mile (haha), but I controlled my fear and had a fun time. I don't think Jon had much fun, though. The trick is to have a couple of drinks when one is partying. I'm not saying, pull an Erik, but it helps knock down a few of the self-imposed social barriers that us nerds tend to have (mine seem to have faded for the most part.) It's just social gatherings *outside* our normal group of people that will allow you to meet new people (who will undoubtedly know more people, and they'll know more people, and so on, and so on....) Oh well, I do what I can!
I had a ton of fun playing SW:CCG and Lord of the Rings TCG, too. I have found my old Senators deck and my Uruk-hai, Elven Archery deck so I can now bring some of my own homemade noise. I wish I could find my Watch Your Step/Kessel Run deck, but I'm pretty sure it got dismantled when I "quit the game." Kessel runs were ueber cool.
I'm bored here at work and I left my notebook, dvds, and other fun things at home. So LJ is the next best thing.
I kinda wish I had chosen to stay home this week and party with the nerdy home friends. Oh well.
