I never thought that in my lifetime that I would see a black president. My godmother always believed that a white woman would become president before a black man would. But, last night America restored some of faith back into this country. It makes me proud to be black, no matter what anyone says I would never be any other color then the color that I am. Also, living in Illinois kicks hella ass. Three US presidents have come (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm too lazy to look it up) from Illinois. Lincoln, Grant, and now Obama. I just wished that I did not have to work because I would have joined my family members and friends in Grant Park last night. Instead, of being in the city I had to some what party with my fellow college students until I had to go to work. I thought I was going to be late to work because everyone was out in the streets screaming, shouting, climbing on top of police cars, and just being full of excitement. I went to work with a modest Obama button and I got my kicks by letting every racist resident know that their new president was Obama. Doing that made me sucky night so enjoyable. Now all I need is for my laptop to return to me. I have been without my laptop for a week. I have to sneak on my roomies computer while she is at work, what a shame. I have so many glorious pictures to share. I hope my baby returns to me soon or I will perish.
