Me and You and Everyone We Know.

The USC thing last night went great.  My scene partner, Christopher, and I arrived at the Robert Zemeckis Center at about a quarter to nine for the directing class, which takes place on a sound stage.  The girl who cast us, Liz, is a student in the directing class, and once we were all ready to go she got up in front of everyone and explained the scene Chris and I were about to do.  After we did the scene, he and I went and waited out in the hall while they... discussed, and after about ten minutes they called us back in and had us run it a few more times.  Didn't really make any major changes, just adjusted some beats and things like that.  The instructor of the class, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0501435/, told us that it was a great scene, and she really didn't have any notes to give us because we were so good and organic each time, and so "in the moment."  Thus ended our evening.

As Liz walked Christopher and I back out to our cars, she thanked us many times for our work and added, "by the way, I've never heard her say anything like that, so, really great job guys!"  We're getting together to shoot the scene in a couple weekends.

I saw "Eve's Bayou" a long time ago when it first came out.  Wish I'd known the identity of this woman before we did the scene!  Come to think of it though, it's probably a lot better that I didn't.

All in all, I'm feeling pretty good about this whole acting thing today.
