This morning on my way to work I found myself at a stoplight behind one car.  Both of us were waiting for the left turn arrow.  When it turned green, the car ahead of me didn't move.  I gave it a few seconds, then lightly tapped my horn.  The driver woke from her reverie and drove on; as she turned she made sure to swivel around in her seat, make eye contact with me, and flip me off.  It was really neat.

Went hiking up Runyon Canyon this weekend.  Nice.  Very pretty up there - good view of L.A.  And I've never seen so many perfectly sculpted bodies in one place before (you're right Ruth - BORING).  Pretty sure I saw Daniel Craig.  Okay, it probably wasn't him, but it looked a lot like him (blonde guy, perfect abs, british accent, sunglasses), so let's just say I saw Daniel Craig.

I saw Daniel Craig!

On Sunday I drove down to Carlsbad to my aunt and uncle's for Easter dinner.  Ham is great - I'm glad I'm not really Jewish.  Ham, potato salad, baked beans, salad with feta cheese and olives, deviled eggs, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.  The food and family was definitely worth spending four hours in the car yesterday.

Watched the Woody Allen movie "Scoop" before I went down there.  Didn't know what to expect going in, apart from the usual quirky Woody Allen type stuff, and ended up really enjoying it.  Scarlett was fun, Hugh was fun, the movie was just... fun.  Not the best thing every, but definitely not difficult to watch.  Ian McShane has a cool voice, too.  I like Scarlett.

James, have you finised Sopranos 3?  I need to catch up...  The rape episode was the last one I saw, I think.

Had an audition at USC last Thursday.  It was all improv.  Had to shock a guy back to life with an imaginary defibrillator (sp?).  Fun.  Had another audition Saturday afternoon - that went well.  Was over on Theatre Row down on Santa Monica Blvd., in the Complex (same place you and I took that free AIDA class way back when, Ruth).

One of the guys in my class is a writer, and he recently wrote a campy play about super heroes.  He's selected a few people from class to read different characters in a table read this Saturday.  I'm reading for - drumroll please...

Cyberwench.

Cyberwench is a punky, devil-may-care, half-human, half-machine chick who gets to fight people.  He asked me to read her character after I did a scene from "Dummy" where I played the Milla Jovovich part.  The script is fun - I'm looking forward.

Also looking forward to doing the opening scene from Pulp Fiction next week in class.  Jeremy and I rehearsed it for a couple hours at Mel's Diner on Saturday.  We discussed that it would be cool to pretend to hold up a diner sometime as part of the rehearsal process, but ultimately decided against it.  Mostly because neither of us has enough time to get arrested AND fit in enough rehearsal time for the scene.

Um... what else...

It's just been a while since I posted, so I feel like there's a lot to catch up on.  But maybe there isn't.

Oh-shot a student film a couple weeks ago.  Going through hair and makeup was interesting.  I don't like the way I turned out, but it's what the director wanted, so, so be it.  My hair was huge and in a "sexy" up-do (which apparently just means "crazy and all over the place").  My face was slathered in thick, non-pore-friendly foundation.  My eyes were done with the whole "smoky" look.  She slapped a little blush and no lip-color on me, which I thought looked completely bizarre.  Oh well.  Overall a fun experience.  Good people.

That's all I can think of for now, I guess.
