Water, water everywhere
So over the weekend Kristina and I went out to take our first samples for our capstone. It was actually quite fun going outside, with our waders and nifty orange gloves. People driving down the streets thought we were either bonkers or asked us if we needed help (which could also mean that they thought we were nuts, just in a nicer way). We each only fell once, and that's only because there was so much snow to wade through just to get to the streams. Once we got back to the lab though...man, what tedium! We played 20 Questions while filtering our samples and cleaning the bottles with double deionized water. The best part was going to SushiThai afterwards to celebrate our first foray into the unknown. I introduced Kristina to sushi, and now she's addicted, just like me! I think we're going to end up having fun doing this project, even though it will also be incredibly stressful.
