One launch and a moment of appreciation

Well, this is it: tomorrow is the big day, the launch for ‘Samiha’s Song’. And of course I can’t decide what to wear, and have no idea what I’m going to say, and everyone I know appears to be leaving town to go to the Wairarapa for the weekend.

You know, the usual pre-launch blues. (I can say ‘the usual’ because I’ve done this a sum total of once before.)

Meanwhile - and this is the thought that fires me up - my Writing Strong Women posters have been sending in their very exciting pieces to me over this past week, and let me just say, we’re in for a collective treat. We’ll be hearing from Glenda Larke, Kim Falconer, Tim Jones, Kaaron Warren, Helen Lowe and hopefully a few more bright minds over the course of this month. Each post is personal, excellent, different. I hope each one will generate as much discussion as the last two have done, and are still doing! (Check out the comments sections of Gillian and Nicole’s posts again - great stuff happening there.)

All I need to do to stop from worrying over what I’m saying tomorrow is to look at what these wonderful colleagues of mine are saying each and every day… I feel very lucky to know them all, and privileged, and profoundly grateful.
