- Was at a friend's new moon ritual on Tuesday night, so I only got around to watching this weeks SYTYCD last night - I'm out of practice and was actually shocked by the shockboot of the season. Huh.
- In the queue:
A) H and I have said we're going to start watching Copper, as it's available on BBC On Demand; now we just have to set a time.
B) Picked up a deeply discounted S1 of Southland, which should be arriving in the mail any day = me ftw.
C) Planning to start over and finish watching The Wire, in the manner in which teevee is supposed to be watched: one ep per week.
Might as well plan some TV watching finally again, as I need to get a jump on knitting season. I'd like to finish at least one adult-sized log cabin blanket before the winter holidays.
- Still have not seen Pacific Rim. This MUST be remedied.
- Getting more regular with my yoga practice - I'm managing 4-5 days a week, right now. This would be easier if I could haul my ass out of bed to do it in the a.m. before work, isntead of in the evenings. Next up, baby steps at Pilates.
- Grandfather is not doing well. This is one reason I want the blanket knitted and finished by Christmas this year.
- 10,000 people at Mountain Moral Monday. In Asheville, a city of, what? 75,000 people? Most excellent. Coming up, Coastal Moral Monday on Aug. 19, plus it sounds like they're organizing something in Charlotte the same day. Then hitting all 13 Congressional districts on Aug. 28 (not a Monday, but historic).
- Went thrifting for pants yesterday; I only found one pair to buy, but I also found a necklace with a tyr rune on it. Sitting in the discount jewelry basket. Right on top. For $1.50. I'm actually not that great at the runes, so I didn't recognize it and wasn't sure at first if I ought to buy it, and then I turned it over, and it has "warrior" and "tyr" cut into the back of it. And I was all, "Oh. For me, then?" I've not worked in the Norse traditions much at all, really, barring calling on Thor as one of three protectors/peacekeepers in the recent rituals we've been doing before the Moral Monday gatherings (Mars, Thor, Lugh - which worked on several levels, all three being from IE pantheons that we were familiar with, if not actively working with, and that the threefold cord of cultures you get in that setup covers a good bit of the foundations of dominant civic culture in the US). I'm now wondering if Tyr ought to be pulled into that and/or if there's the possibility of a more personal level.
