One of the things that is both wonderful and frustrating about the show is that there are so many great minor characters who come alive for a moment and we then don't see again. (We literally hear Anthea speak about 15 lines). So I love writing canonical or canon-influenced events from their viewpoint, trying to see how they might behave in the way that they do. And I particularly like writing female protagonists, whether het, femslash or general. I've done fics for most of the women in the two series (though not yet anything from Mrs Hudson's POV).

I've always been very fond of Sarah, and I remember someone commenting about Blind Banker that John was to Sarah as Sherlock was to John - someone who pulled them into an improbable, more exciting world. So I liked the thought that even though falling for John is obviously not going to end well for Sarah, John's no more sensible in falling for Sherlock (however straight he is).

I'm pleased you spotted the wing three quarter reference - it seemed such a neat way to get the New Zealand connection in (which comes from John's blog).
