"I know," he said quietly, "but so am I."

He smiled at her again: a small, battered, inoffensive man. Ready to save people or kill them.

I really love this.

Very lovely. I might add that David Cameron, etc. etc.

Glad you enjoyed it - but this is set just after Study in Pink, which is canonically in Jan 2010, when we did still have the luckless Gordon.

Glad you enjoyed it - it's amazing how you get such a sense of Ella just in the one scene of Pink. (And I think she's in Series 2 as well, which is pleasing).

I don't think they give the cabby a name in Pink. But in Study in Scarlet, he's Jefferson Hope (and a cabby, and does the poison pill swap etc), so I thought I'd follow that.

This was very good. Totally enjoyed being in Ella's head there, and what an intriguing view both of her and of John. I totally bought it, it worked. Very enjoyable read!

I've had counselling myself and there's a certain kind of patient yet persistent attitude in a good counsellor/therapist that it's interesting to try and write. I suspect John can't be an easy client to work with, though, even without Mycroft's interference.
