Please include a small sample of the worst of this story:
It was three o'clock in the morning, when a girl called Citrine Donovan sat up late at night, typing on her lap-top. Her chin-length brown hair swayed back and forth like her dangly moon-shaped earrings while she shook her head as if to correct a mistake, but it was quickly revealed as not the case as her crystal blue eyes scanned the screen as she scrolled down a web-site about mutant refuge.

It had only been a week since she first discovered her powers, but it had seemed like an entire year. Her blue eyes narrowed, as she threw her pen across her bedroom in anger. She knew all too well what her mutation meant. No one else even knew she had it, she was the only one. She threw herself back onto her bed, slamming her head into her pillow.

"No." She thought. "No, I can't tell."

She knew her 'parents' wouldn't help her if she told them. She had resolved to run away as soon as she could. She picked up her spare pen from her bedside table, and allowed her power to take over, and in but a few moments, her pen was crystallized, the same color as her eyes. It was then she resolved to run away.

She realized she would never make it entirely on her own, but who would she get to go with her? The only one she knew that even barely understood what she was going through was the girl that lived down the street, Lorraine Giry. But Rain (Lorraine's nickname) wasn't a mutant, she was only discriminated against like one. She was just really weird.

"But should I actually have her come with me?" She wondered out loud, flipping herself over onto her back, and staring at her left hand. It was heavily scarred from where her cat Mina had scratched her so much, but she didn't mind. It suddenly occurred to her that if she left, her parents would not keep Mina alive.

"No." She said. "No, I'll take Mina with me."

And with that said, she sat up, turned out the lights and her lap top off, rolled over, and fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
