My father was in Berlin for the last two days, working with the staff of the hotel where the première thingy for the new Tom Cruise film was held. Apparently Mister Cruise is very very handsome in person and spent close to two hours outside giving autographs and stealing cams from fans to make pictures. My father is a bit disturbed he seemed so awesome. Also, Wowereit seems to cuddle random people while giving them autographs, which amused my father. Also also, there was a couple outside with tickets to the party who got into a big row, because the woman categorically refused to step into the hotel via the red carpet way. Heh.
Dude, I am so glad I don't frequent the TW fandom anymore. Just read the lated F!S entry, and woah *FACEPALMS* Can I just say, as a total Jack/Ianto shipper, that I loathe both sides? AND the in-between people who always go on about how TW is so totally polyamorous. Except, you know, NOT. Not that I have anything against that, but srsly, WHAT? Let's recap what we know:
Gwen: had an affair with Owen, otherwise in a mono relationship/marriage with Rhys, who seems to be completely faithful (affair /= poly, btw, dipshits)
Tosh: slept with two people in two years (and not at the same time)
Jack: no hint about him having sex with anyone but Ianto in two/three years, depending whether you count TYTNW
Owen: apparently faithful to the woman he was going to marry, whilst single roaming about and having fun (go you, I loved that)
Ianto: no hint about him having sex with anyone but Jack in about two years
It's like people are so fucking bitter Jack doesn't do anything but flirt since he left DW, but really? HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE IN DW AS WELL. The only time Jack ever is a giant space slut (and I love Jack talking about being a giant space slut) is when he tells us he was. Apparently. According to him. Whatever. But, see, do more than flirt? He never did. Not on DW, not on TW. "Boom Town", when he could have gone out to shag all of Cardiff? He voluntarily stayed in the Tardis by himself, doing repair jobs. Basically, everyone who goes on about Jack being 51st century and not understanding commitment? YOU FAIL. COMPLETELY. AT EVERYTHING. Which is not to say I wouldn't *LOVE* to have a show where there are actual sexxing OT3/4/5s and tons of switching about, but TW? Is. Not. It. Get the fuck over it already. Phew. And now, bring on S3, with hopefully lots of awesome Gwen, Ianto, Jack, and Rhys. And since I stay the hell away from the twatwaffles these days, I know I am going to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed S1 - which means, a whole fucking lot, because I don't notice I'm not supposed to enjoy it.
