Just finished Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill, and it's a fucking great book. LOVED it. I wouldn't really call it a horror novel, though - it's more a classic gothic ghost romance, and to have it set in today's metal goth scene is so perfect. It's haunting and elegantly written, and - which is in my eyes most important - you actually care about the main characters' welfare. Few things are worse than a book where you just don't care if people live or die or get skinned alive.
