I saved this one from 2-14. The weekend started out okay but tanked.
On Friday I like to slow down a little and do a few things I did not accomplish during the week. I was also expecting an important phone call from out of town so I did not want to miss it.
On Thursday I had spent the entire day with a numb left hand. So a quick trip to the Chiropractor was added to my Friday plans.
On Friday both kids had the day off. Uggh. Matthew intended to wake up at normal school time and go hang out with his friends. Yea. However he woke up with a hurt leg and wanted a ride. No problem, I am heading to the Chiro for a quickie so I dropped him off. Then my Mom called. She was very serious and upset...
I put my Mothers black cat to sleep. He was very sick and needed to stop suffering. It was necessary but I was upset. I glossed over the whole event and went into denial mode.
We had family dinner plans. We would take my Mom & meet with friends. Thus distracting my Mom & me from the cat issue. Dinner ran a little long which made us later for our own Game night.
Game night went great, except for being late. Everyone blabbed for over an hour and then we played 2 rounds of Earthquake. The whole evening wrapped up smoothly and fairly early.
On Saturday we went to the Kobey's Swap Meet at 8:00am. I like to go for the exercise and the cheap shopping. I wanted to pick up a shirt for a friend. We did really good at the Swap Meet and on the way out I was blessed to find a local honey vendor. I bought Orange, Wildflower & Blueberry blossom blends. She let me taste 4 flavors and unlike the store crap each one had a distinct yummy flavor.
I made it home in plenty of time to pick up my sewing stuff and dash off to meet Pam & Robin. I actually finished a few sewing projects (I may take pictures), so I started a new skirt. That was kind of squirrelly so I decided to retreat and go at it again on Sunday.
On Saturday there was much discussion of the Abney Park show at Queen Bees. I should have planned better. It is mostly my fault, but I am still pissy about it. I thought I could only go to Sabbat, at The Flame or Abney Park. Turns out Queen Bees was hosting an all ages show open from 6:00pm-12:00mid. The Flame is open 10:00pm-2:00am. But I did not know that originally.
I had friends who would be at Abney Park, but I only had a 60/40 chance of a friend being at Sabbat. I do not like to attend stag. I think a person should have backup in case crap happens. I am never the drunk-girl that needs to be rescued, but I still don't want to go alone.
The problem with this busy weekend was a total lack of romance. He never planned for us to go out even though there were two obvious places he could have taken me to. No flowers. I did get Sees candy on Monday, Feb 14, but by then I was over it. I don't know why this year sucked so bad, but I hope that does not happen ever again.
valentine,
frustrated,
