Huge critic. About 95% of the art people send me or link me I end up tearing to shits. I usually hold my tongue or don't comment at all on anything. I find a number of artists, a lot of the BNF's around on LJ too, to be craptacular. What makes it worse is that they are so popular that if you dare say anything other than "*_* I LOVE IT" they're either roll their eyes and huddle with their fanbase or they'll cry about it and get defensive... ooor they'll make a huge shitstorm. So no one says anything constructive ever, and their art doesn't get better it gets worse.
And that's so incredibly irritating.
I'm like that art teacher you can't fucking stand who fails most of their class every time. Only I can't draw for shits, really. Which might all make is mean and egotistical, but if you're really an artist you need to grow a backbone anyways.

And yeah, I've noticed you being like that. I'm kinda the opposite. I can see artistic value in things even if they're not amazing, and can respect them as works of art, even if they don't really wow me. In the instance of the MAD that those icons are from, I excuse it as being a different style. But that's just me =3.

When a piece of art is suppose to look like something it's different. If you are becoming a manga artist, you might want to learn how to draw semi-realistically. There is style and then there is a complete lack of understanding anatomy.
