Changing Dekstop Icon
I'm sure you know at least part of it on how to change your icons but sometimes with window 7 it's difficult to change the icons for libraries and even system file. It's always the dull yellow folder isn't? Well if you're a geek like me and never satisfied with what you've already been given then you might one to know one this things.
First and foremost search for your favourite icons to use on your PC first like me I love japanese and Harry Potter theme Icon find as much as you want so that you have variety of choice. One website I suggest to you is http://www.iconarchive.com/category/movie-icons.html
they offer awesome icons there and it's free if you like japanese theme search for "Kaori" it has about 100 beautiful icons
Next is how to applies it...
I found two software which can help in changing those icons... free of ads or anything of those rubbish of course me myself loathed it > <
one is for changing libraries icon

There is a manual way where you can change the icon without having to download this but the step is so looooongg and by you arrive on changing icon part you already give up XD (at least I did ^^")
How to use it is simple you just install it (the program is not heavy as it is minor so don't worry) and launch it and choose the button "Select new icon from file" choose any icons you desire to replace the normal icon from the folder you stored in your favourite icons. The result is you can see them like this...
Pretty cool rite? You can see that I change my document icon to marauders map hehe
Next is the other icons like system files and the normal yellow folder and also hardware icons that shows your os, partitions and devices.

I suggest you download Toolset and Display only as the last one is only for those who wanted to create the icon from scratch.
Microangelo Toolset allows you to change any icons in your computer the result would be this...
This is the Japanese-theme icons
As you can see on the start menu you can even change the adobe icon into the one you like and on the taskbar you can see that I change yahoo messenger into hedwig carrying parcels icon and windows media player icons into snitch icon and etc.
Another type of folder that you can change. In order to do this just right click on the icon and choose "Appearance" then a window will come out tick on the "custom" and it will allows you to choose your own icon.
Lastly Microangelo on Display allows you to change the icon of system file all you have to do is the same as previous one except the window that will pop out will show you several options of system that you would like to change. So just choose anything to start with and change the icon.
The result would be...
Hard Disk icon changed to a bento-poi box that still resemble the normal icons but much cooler
the one that has birds is actually a system file that usually shows blank paper but now it looks pretty ^^V
and my computer icon I changed it to hogwarts logo hehe
