Saying that is fine but it's how some people define "support" that I usually have a problem with. Some people "show support" as a way to produce an elevation in their status, to appear better than those that truly support troops but don't have a token symbol (yellow ribbon) to show for it.

My only question is what can you say instead of "I don't support the war but I support the troops?"
