A tribute to Shatnoy
K/S what? On this day sandwiched between Bill and Leonard's birthday, it is absolutely logical to celebrate Shatnoy instead! Because as legendary as Kirk and Spock are as the original One True Slash Pairing, the actors who gave them life have a bond just as close and compelling as their characters'. No doubt the reason Kirk and Spock sizzled on the screen is because of the awesome chemistry between Bill and Len! Shatner and Nimoy are just as into subtle flirtation, constant illogical touching and mutual declarations of love in real life as Kirk and Spock are, and to our greatest delight they've slashed themselves joyfully for the past decades. :-D
So for you my friends, and as a tribute to this beautiful pair, here's a top 10 of my favorite Shatnoyesque moments.
10. The BBQ pictures. Because it's TOS era when they were young and pretty and they're laughing together and OMG aren't they awfully cute almost sharing a plate like this? <3
9. Concert under the stars (late summer/early fall 2009). Because it's one news that I found in my local newspaper and the idea of them attending a classical music concert alone together on a rooftop under the stars is shamelessly romantic.
Rough translation:
"MUSIC FOR EVERYONE. Montreal-born William Shatner, accompanied by his long-time friend from the Star Trek series Leonard Nimoy, attended a concert under the stars on the roof of the Walt Disnet Concert Hall, where the new musical director of the L.A. Philharmonic played Symphony no1. Although M. Shatner, 78, admitted to suffering from hearing problems, he seemed to hear and enjoy every note."

7. Western Airlines Commercial. Because rehearsed or not, there's that amazing complicity and genuine fun between the two of them.
