Isn't it absolutely GORGEOUS? :-DD And iz now mine, mine, MINE! I'd been looking for that zine from the second I glimpsed the tiny icon of this cover at the publisher's site. Took me over a year but I finally found a copy (as well as copies of 7 other zines that weren't even on my wish list, but we're not going to talk about that, right?) And the back cover is just as gorgeous, as you can see below:

I was so happy, I had to draw a Kirk. The likeness is still not good enough for my taste - the left half especially, and the placement and depth of teh shadows make him look much older - but I think it shows definite improvement over my previous tries. This one was done in lead pencil, sharpened only once and without an eraser on a 5x3 pad, over 4 half-hour commercial breaks. Not bad. I'd like to try to do that same pose again after a few months of practice.
