so i havent updated in a long while... and it was sorta because nothing really good has happened in my life, but ive been thinking and i need to get stuff down so i can go to sleep.. so sorry if this is a downer, if you dont want to read it its cool..
lets see... christmas was okay.. my parents went to NY for a week, so i stayed home and watched the dogs
Jan 11th - back to wesleyan start of classes
Jan 21st (Sunday) - babysitting harmony when i get a message from mom that says " call me back when you get this please" so i called her back, dad answers, " i have some bad news... Bebe(my grandfather) passed away early this morning" so supposedly he had been sick, and my grandmother(Gam) had told him they needed to go to the hospital, but he doesnt like the hospital since he had to stay in there for like a month 5 years ago when he had his heart attacks and heart surgery, so he said no he was fine, but he would wake her if he needed anything in the night... well he sleeps in a recliner in his own room and has for some time, cus its better for his sleep apnia, and at some point in the night he had thrown up in the night, so he got up and changed his shirt, shaved, and what looks like got ready to go to the hospital as he had his drivers license and insurance card in his front shirt pocket. but before he went to get Gam up, he went outside as he would do sometimes when he couldnt sleep. he would do this at night because it was the one time when it was quite and peaceful in the world he used to say. well some how he fell or lay down or something, and pulled a cardboard box under his head that had been outside, and just followed the angels skyward as they marched away playing 76 trombones... he just stepped in line and sang along all the way to the gates.. he had dressed himself in his green christmas shirt and his red suspenders... and as a big fan of the music man thats what he looked like to us...a 76 trombones angel. so upon hearing this i traveled home on monday.
Jan 22-27th(M-S)- home... helping to plan the funeral... making sure everything is as it should be. we had the graveside service for family on thursday. my aunt and i folded his brothers flag that was over his cofin. then it was onward to my uncle jeffs house for lunch. friday was the memorial at our church, which was bery nice, lots of people were there, and the chapel was full and there were people in the hallways as well. he was a really great person. and you never really think that you may see someone for the last time until it actually happens. when i said goodbye on the 9th i did not ever think it would be forever. thats the one thing i hated.
around Feb 13th - my dad goes to the dr. because he came back in town and somethign just didnt feel quite right, well after tests and an mri, it was determined that in the previous 48hours he had had a cluster of mini stroke or something.
Feb 14thish - present - test upon test, trying to figure out whats going on. this happening thourgout mardi gras is not a good thing either, because drs. arnt seeing as many people, and such.... he is not allowed to drive, which is a very big thing for him. my dad drives for a living, and always drive anywhere the family goes. after mri's, mra's, occupational therapists, speech therapists, 2 neurologists, eye doctors, ENT, and who knows what else, he does seem to be doing better, though he is still not allowed to drive yet.
Somehwere in here - Grant the little boy i have been babysitting everyother day for the past 4-5 months, i sit for the last time... at least on a regular basis, his parents adopted a baby girl and needed to find someone who would be able to come fulltimeish.... .sadness for me... even though i am still going to be able to sit some times and visit whenever.
Feb 17th-20 - home for mardi gras, which was alot of fun
Feb 19th - Kit Kat(my indoor cat) gets outside and so my mom goes out to try and catch her... and she trips or something off the side walk
Feb 21st - trip to the orthopedist which finally determines that mom has broken a bone in her foot, her metacarsel(sp?) a dancers break... thankfully in her left foot so she can still drive, but is still going to be in a walking boot for 6 weeks.
Feb 21st as well - out to lunch with my grandmother... and we go back home where she gives me my xmas present, this LARGE stuffed dog to snuggle with at night, and while in the backyard, as it was being stored in the shed, a loose dog comes to the other side of the fence and picks a fight with her tow corgies, i grab one by its leash and she grabs the other, and sugar(the male) whips around and bites her leg, not on purpose of coarse, but still.... so we take care of that. ended that day by going and sitting and visiting with Bebe. first time ive really gotten to go and jus
Feb 21-23 - SEPA conference in N.O. (Southeastern Psycology Association)which was alot of fun... hanging out down town and going to poster sessions and such.
Feb 24th - back to wesleyan
Feb 26th - mom calls and supposedly the same dog who attacked the corgies thorugh the fence attacked them while my grandmother was wlaking them, sweetie pie(female) got the tip of her ear bitten off, and sugar plum(male) has a hole on the top of his head... my grandmother started screaming and such, and people came out, and she called animal control, and they came and picked up the dog, who is a neighbors dog who just keeps getting out or something...
so as you can tell my past two months or so have been real eventful.....
dogs,
bebe,
